Introduction to Video Let It Ride Poker
This video version mimics the table game. It is basically configured as a video poker machine, and can be found either as a stand-alone self-contained machine or as part of some multi-game video slots. Some of the video Let It Ride machines are also made very big, meaning that their video screens, and the cabinets the machines are contained in, are large. It doesn't matter whether the game is in a small cabinet, or whether it is one of the big machines, or whether the game is simply part of the game icons in a multi-game machine. All versions of video Let It Ride play the same.
Video Let It Ride is a player-interactive game similar to video poker. You play it in virtually the same manner as you would any video poker machine. The only major difference in operating video Let It Ride, as opposed to video poker machines, is that there are fewer buttons. The buttons on this game, which control your decisions, are: "bet one," "bet max," "rebet," "help," "credits," and "cash out." In addition, video Let It Ride has two other buttons that tell the machine whether you wish to "take down" the first or second hand bet. After you deposit the number of coins you wish to bet, on these machines from one to five for each spot, and after the machine deals you the three cards you get to see first, it will then prompt you to decide whether or not you wish to "let it ride." Press the button marked "yes" or "no." The machine does it all.
Playing this game is virtually the same as playing the table version of Let It Ride. The only difference is that this is a machine, and therefore the action is only between you and it. That can be an advantage. The disadvantage, how ever, is that you can only bet a maximum of $5 per spot, on a $1 machine, and thus are limited in your betting choices. Also, video Let It Ride only offers fixed payoffs, and these are pretty small when compared with what you can get on the table game version, particularly with the various payoff variations and bonus games offered by some but not all casinos for the table-game version. Although video Let It Ride can be fun to play for a tryout, you're far better off playing the table-game version, where you can control the size of your bets and have the ability to choose tables and seating positions, as well as seeing the flow of cards dealt to other players. This video version of Let It Ride can also get quite boring after a while, and it is therefore not recommended as one of the better video slot machines.
